The above quote sums up what you need to do to be successful if you have the idea-oriented profiles of the Artist or Performer. It is critical to be creative and adaptive in today’s complex and competitive environment which brings forth a multitude of disruption in the way things are done, however, without focus and decisive action to realize these ideas, one may be deemed too unrealistic with the inability to deliver on promises.
With the intrinsic talent to be creative, the idea-oriented profiles are able to unleash the potential of the mind to conceive new ideas. However, the main difference between creativity and innovation is the focus. From a business standpoint, there is no innovation until something gets implemented and accepted in the marketplace.
Thus, as profiles that are idea-oriented, it is your ability to stay focus to bring a creative idea, apply consistent effort and persevere till your great idea becomes a reality that will make you successful. As Theodore Levitt puts it best: “What is often lacking is not creativity in the idea-creating sense but innovation in the action-producing sense, i.e. putting ideas to work.”
